The removal of a Shivling, Hanuman idol, and Trishul from a long-standing roadside shrine at Nandai Chowk triggered public anger and heavy police deployment in Rajnandgaon, prompting an official probe into possible intent to disturb communal harmony.

The Rajnandgaon district administration has confiscated two vehicles seized for illegally transporting buffaloes in violation of the Chhattisgarh Agricultural Cattle Preservation Act and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. The vehicles will now be auctioned after the review period expired without any court intervention.

Under a district-wide peace enforcement campaign, Chikhli Police arrested an intoxicated man accused of creating public disorder in Rajnandgaon and presented him before the court. The police have reiterated that strict action will continue against anti-social elements, illegal liquor–ganja sellers, and those disturbing public peace.

Instead of easing traffic, the 7-km-long flyover is now plagued with reckless youth performing dangerous acts, littering, and creating nuisance. Authorities have issued 190 challans, collected ₹83,000 in fines, and deployed round-the-clock surveillance to curb the menace. The administration insists the flyover must remain a pride of Jabalpur, not a reel-making stage.

The Chamber of Commerce has raised strong objections after a local businessman in Rajnandgaon alleged a ₹2.02 crore fraud by a Ghaziabad-based refrigeration firm. Despite admitting liability before police, the accused failed to return the amount, prompting the Chamber to demand immediate legal action.
