World Food India 2025 concluded in New Delhi with investment pledges worth over ₹1 lakh crore, giving a major boost to India’s food processing sector. The three-day mega event saw participation from global giants like Nestle, PepsiCo, and Lulu Group, focusing on agri-exports, MSME integration, and sustainable technologies. With India aiming to double food exports to $100 billion by 2030, the expo emphasized organic farming, millet innovations, and cold-chain infrastructure to ensure nutritional security and rural job creation.
At Gungeri Navagaon, National Nutrition Month was observed with awareness sessions for adolescent girls on the importance of local foods, millets, anemia prevention, and personal safety. Supported by ICDS, UNICEF, and Mission Shakti, the program blended nutrition education with creative activities and community participation.
On the occasion of PM Kisan Diwas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi disbursed the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, transferring ₹22.61 crore to 1,05,252 farmers in Rajnandgaon district through an Aadhaar-based system. A major event was held at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Surgi, where farmers were introduced to government welfare schemes, innovative agri-tech, crop insurance, and organic produce. Local representatives, officials, and hundreds of farmers participated in the extensive exhibition and demonstrations, including nano fertilizer drone spraying and zero-balance Jan Dhan account openings.
