Commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a grand Unity March was organized from the International Hockey Stadium in Rajnandgaon. The march, filled with patriotic fervor, echoed chants of “Vande Mataram” and “Sardar Patel Amar Rahe” as it passed through Gaurav Path and major city landmarks. Addressing the gathering, Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Dr. Raman Singh lauded Patel’s historic contribution in integrating 565 princely states into one united India. He emphasized Patel’s enduring message — that national unity is the foundation of progress — and administered oaths for a self-reliant and drug-free India.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai paid homage to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel during the Ekta Diwas celebrations at Kevadia, Gujarat, marking the Iron Man’s 150th birth anniversary. At the Statue of Unity, the CM highlighted Patel’s historic role in national integration and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for carrying forward his vision of a strong and united India. He also encouraged Chhattisgarh’s cultural troupe participating in the national cultural festival, calling them ambassadors of the state’s rich heritage.

India has launched year-long celebrations for the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram. PM Modi called the national song a mantra of unity and urged promotion of its full rendition. Cultural events and youth programs will continue through 2025-26.
