Farmer registration under the PM-AASHA Price Support Scheme is ongoing in Rajnandgaon through digital portals, enabling MSP procurement of pulses and oilseeds with direct payment benefits.
Agriculture Production Commissioner Mrs Shehla Nigar reviewed the progress of central and state agricultural schemes and crop diversification programmes during a field visit to several villages in Rajnandgaon district. Emphasising low-water crops, MSP procurement and natural farming, she interacted with farmers and officials to ensure effective implementation of government initiatives.
A long‐standing informal “middlemen system” in Rajnandgaon’s agricultural mandis has come under unprecedented pressure as the district administration intensifies its crackdown on illegal paddy trade, fake procurement slips, and cross-border smuggling. The ongoing operations have shaken the entire unregulated network of agents, small traders, and farmers.
Under the PM-AASHA scheme, the Chhattisgarh government has announced MSP-based procurement of major pulses and oilseeds through cooperative societies. With procurement dates set between December 2025 and May 2026, farmers in Rajnandgaon are expected to benefit significantly from assured returns and expanded crop opportunities.
The Rajnandgaon District Administration held a review and training meeting for paddy procurement under Kharif Marketing Season 2025-26, where Collector Jitendra Yadav mandated strict monitoring of illegal paddy trade, deployment of micro-observers at sensitive centres, and priority token issuance for small and marginal farmers.
