Workshop on Groundwater Recharge and Water Conservation Held in Rajnandgaon

A district-level workshop on groundwater recharge and water conservation was organised at the District Panchayat conference hall in Rajnandgaon under the chairmanship of Dr D. Gyan Sundar, Regional Director, Central Ground Water Board, Chhattisgarh. Officials and technical experts discussed scientific methods of rainwater harvesting, groundwater augmentation and sustainable water management, emphasising inter-departmental coordination and public participation.

Criticising the Union Budget presented by the Modi government, Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Kamaljeet ‘Pintu’ has termed it anti-village, anti-poor, anti-farmer and anti-middle class. He alleged that the budget offers no concrete relief to farmers, unemployed youth or small traders, while shifting welfare burdens to states and prioritising corporate interests.

“Moor Gaon, Moor Pani” Campaign Spurs Rainwater Harvesting Drive

As part of the “Moor Gaon, Moor Pani” campaign, a cluster-level training camp was successfully conducted in Gendatola village under Chhuriya block, Rajnandgaon district. The session, graced by Zila Panchayat President Smt. Kiran Vaishnav, emphasized rainwater harvesting and conservation methods for rural communities. Local leaders, women’s groups, and villagers participated actively in the initiative, which also included a tree plantation under the “One Tree in Mother's Name” campaign.
