Beekeeping is fast emerging as a profitable and low-cost livelihood option for farmers in Chhattisgarh, helping boost rural entrepreneurship and supplementary income. With support from Krishi Vigyan Kendras, farmers like Uday Ram of Balrampur district are transforming honey production into a successful enterprise, earning up to ₹2.5 lakh annually.

The PM Pranam Kisan Seminar at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Surgi, guided Rajnandgaon farmers toward organic and natural farming. Experts advised on reducing chemical fertilizer use, maintaining soil health, and accessing government subsidies, promoting sustainable agriculture practices.

On the occasion of PM Kisan Diwas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi disbursed the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, transferring ₹22.61 crore to 1,05,252 farmers in Rajnandgaon district through an Aadhaar-based system. A major event was held at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Surgi, where farmers were introduced to government welfare schemes, innovative agri-tech, crop insurance, and organic produce. Local representatives, officials, and hundreds of farmers participated in the extensive exhibition and demonstrations, including nano fertilizer drone spraying and zero-balance Jan Dhan account openings.

A joint Scientific Advisory Committee meeting was conducted at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Surgi, under the guidance of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya. Experts from Rajnandgaon, Durg, and Balod districts reviewed the annual agricultural progress and discussed the action plan for 2025–26, with a strong emphasis on dissemination of innovative techniques and farmer training.
