Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar’s sudden refusal to chair the Rajya Sabha or attend his own farewell has sent shockwaves through India’s political circles. On the 61st death anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the City District Congress Committee of Rajnandgaon organized a tribute and symposium under the leadership of President Kulbir Singh Chhabra. The gathering paid floral tributes and highlighted Nehru’s unmatched contributions to nation-building, including the establishment of institutions like IITs, ITIs, Bhilai Steel Plant, and the planning commission.

On the occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti and Social Harmony Day, a district-level programme was held in Rajnandgaon with participation from Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy CM Vijay Sharma via video conferencing. The event featured the signing of MoUs between 40 Gram Panchayats and CSC service providers for setting up Atal Digital Panchayat Centres. A special housing survey under the Awas Plus 2.0 scheme will be conducted from April 15 to April 30 as part of the “Mor Duwar, Sahay Sarkar” campaign. Officials and dignitaries paid homage to Dr. Ambedkar, recited the Preamble of the Indian Constitution, and reflected on his contribution to social justice, women's empowerment, and constitutional governance.
