Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi and his wife, Maria Goretti, have been barred by SEBI from the securities market for one year after being found guilty of participating in a stock manipulation scheme involving Sadhna Broadcast Ltd. The couple allegedly profited over Rs 90 lakh through misleading YouTube promotions and coordinated trading, leading to significant losses for thousands of retail investors. SEBI’s final order highlights the misuse of social media for market manipulation and issues strong penalties against all 59 involved entities.

Thousands of teachers from across Chhattisgarh rallied at Raipur’s Tuta Maidan on May 28 to protest the government’s controversial rationalization policy and demand key service-related reforms. Other key routes like Singhola–Bhothipar Khurd and Usribod–Shivnath River access roads are in a similarly dilapidated state, prompting growing anger among locals and repeated demands for reconstruction.
