Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that singing the national song Vande Mataram will now be mandatory in all schools, colleges, and educational institutions across the state. Marking 150 years of the iconic song that played a pivotal role in India’s freedom struggle, the decision is being seen as a strong step to reinforce national identity and counter divisive tendencies.

The Chhattisgarh Parents’ Association has expressed strong dissatisfaction over the delay in implementing subject-specific teacher placement norms in government secondary schools, a decision earlier announced by the Chief Minister. The association warned that continued inaction could harm the educational prospects of students from underprivileged backgrounds and hinted at launching a protest if reforms are not expedited.
