During the Silver Jubilee celebrations of Chhattisgarh Statehood, former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh presented a commemorative memento to Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the inauguration of the new Legislative Assembly building in Nava Raipur. Describing the structure as the “Temple of Democracy,” Dr. Singh said the grand and culturally inspired complex symbolizes the state’s progress, people’s aspirations, and commitment to democratic excellence. The state-of-the-art assembly showcases sustainable design, tribal heritage, and a modern vision for Chhattisgarh’s future.

A fresh controversy erupted after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi claimed that late Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had threatened him over the farm laws. Jaitley’s son, Rohan Jaitley, strongly refuted the claim, pointing out that his father passed away in 2019, while the farm laws were introduced in 2020. Emphasizing Arun Jaitley’s democratic values, Rohan called the statement factually incorrect and urged Rahul Gandhi to show restraint when speaking about those who are no longer alive. The BJP has backed Rohan’s statement and demanded an apology from Gandhi.
