Chhattisgarh Congress will stage a protest and office lockdown in Rajnandgaon on October 13, denouncing the BJP government’s decision to end the Half Electricity Bill Scheme. The party accused the state of exploiting the poor through inflated power tariffs and vowed to continue its agitation until the hike is rolled back.
As part of the nationwide “Srijan Sangathan 2025” initiative launched by the All India Congress Committee (AICC), former minister and Rajnandgaon district in-charge Anila Bhediya led a high-level meeting to restructure mandal and sector committees. Held at Satnam Bhavan, the meeting aimed to energize grassroots workers, induct youth into the party's fold, and expose the BJP's alleged failures at the booth level. Senior Congress leaders and MLAs offered strategic suggestions, and appointments were made to key organizational posts in both urban and rural blocks of the district.
Congress has slammed the Chhattisgarh government's rationalization policy in education, alleging it will eliminate 32,000 teaching posts and promote private schools at the cost of public education, calling it a move against students' and teachers' interests.
