Rajnandgaon’s hockey nursery and sports ecosystem have received a major boost with multi-crore approvals for astro turf renewal, an athletics running track and CSR-funded development works, prompting sports bodies to thank state and local leadership.

Chhattisgarh Hockey’s 17th Annual General Meeting was held at the International Hockey Stadium in Rajnandgaon, focusing on strengthening hockey infrastructure, promoting talent, and finalizing venues for upcoming tournaments.

The State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) has approved ₹2.04 crore for the beautification of two ponds and a crematorium in Lalbahadur Nagar Nagar Panchayat. The sanction was issued after approval from Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration Minister Arun Sao.

Development works exceeding ₹80 lakh have been initiated across three wards of Rajnandgaon under various government and public representatives’ funds. To mark the 50th anniversary of the Emergency, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) organized a grand state-level mock parliament in Raipur, with participation from youth delegates across Chhattisgarh. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of safeguarding democracy, with enthusiastic involvement from Rajnandgaon students and BJYM leaders.

In a significant step towards regional development and healthcare enhancement, Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh inaugurated and laid foundation stones for various development works worth ₹39.23 crore in Dongargarh today. He also launched a modern diagnostic center at Maa Bamleshwari Charitable Hospital, equipped with CT scan, digital X-ray, and sonography services—benefitting thousands in the surrounding region.

Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh will lead the foundation-laying ceremony for urban development projects worth ₹23.44 crore in Rajnandgaon. The event will also feature the inauguration of a fish aquarium and mark the launch of several infrastructure projects, including a modern Nalanda Complex for students.

Aiming to strengthen urban governance and development, Rajnandgaon Mayor Madhusudan Yadav, Commissioner Atul Vishwakarma, and other senior officials participated in the two-day 'Nagar Suraj Sangam' workshop in Raipur, inaugurated by Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao.

The Tehsil Sahu Association and the Rural Sahu Association of Rajnandgaon are set to inaugurate their newly constructed community building at Chokhadiya Para on April 29. The event will be graced by Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao as the chief guest, along with many other eminent political and community leaders.
