गाजियाबाद के रहने वाले हरीश राणा, जो पिछले 13 वर्षों से सड़क दुर्घटना के बाद कोमा में थे, उनके जीवन संघर्ष का मार्मिक अंत सामने आया है। परिवार की अपील और डॉक्टरों की रिपोर्ट के आधार पर Supreme Court of India ने लाइफ सपोर्ट सिस्टम हटाने की अनुमति दे दी। हाल ही में उन्हें All India Institute of Medical Sciences में भर्ती कराया गया था, जहां मेडिकल जांच के बाद उनके ठीक होने की संभावना लगभग समाप्त बताई गई। बेटे को अंतिम विदाई देते समय माता-पिता के भावुक शब्दों ने सभी को भावुक कर दिया।
