The Rajnandgaon district administration has intensified its farmer outreach campaign under the Agristack Portal's Farmer Registry. As part of the ongoing ‘Krishak Jodo Abhiyan,’ door-to-door awareness and village-level registration camps are being conducted to ensure all eligible farmers are registered before the August 30 deadline.

In a major step towards modernizing agriculture in Rajnandgaon, the government has disbursed ₹3.31 crore in subsidies under the Agricultural Mechanization Sub-Mission. This initiative aims to equip farmers with advanced machinery like tractors and harvesters, enhancing productivity, reducing labor, and promoting sustainable farming. The scheme reflects the government’s commitment to empowering farmers with technology-driven solutions for long-term growth and food security.

Rajnandgaon’s Agriculture Department is driving a shift towards smart and sustainable farming by promoting the use of liquid nano urea alongside traditional fertilizers. With paddy successfully sown across 154,494 hectares thanks to timely seed storage, this innovative approach is set to improve yields and empower local farmers. The eco-friendly nano urea enhances nutrient absorption and plant health, positioning the district for a productive kharif season.

Progressive farmer Chohaldas Sahu from Kesla village is reaping the benefits of modern agricultural machinery, particularly a paddy transplanter received under the state’s Farm Mechanization Mission. With a government subsidy of ₹4.10 lakh, Sahu has not only reduced labor and time but also increased crop yield and earned ₹1.2 lakh annually by renting the machine to fellow farmers.

Chhattisgarh has mandated registration on the Agristack Portal for all farmers intending to sell paddy at MSP for Kharif 2025-26. Rajnandgaon district has achieved 77% registration so far. The deadline for generating a Digital Farmer ID is August 30, 2025, after which unregistered farmers may lose access to subsidies, insurance, and procurement benefits.

As the sowing season for Kharif crops begins, agricultural experts have issued timely advice to farmers regarding effective weed management, especially in paddy fields. Unchecked weed growth can severely affect crop yields by competing for water, nutrients, and sunlight. The advisory outlines mechanical, biological, and chemical control methods, with emphasis on specific application timings and safety precautions to ensure optimal crop performance and farmer safety.
