Correction Policy

At BT News India, accuracy and integrity are non-negotiable. We recognize that mistakes can happen. When they do, our commitment is to correct them transparently and as swiftly as possible.

What Constitutes a Correction
Errors in factual information (dates, names, locations, statistics)
Errors in headline which misrepresents content
Errors due to misquotations or misinterpretation

What We Do When an Error is Found

  • We will correct the error in the online version of the article, clearly indicating that a correction has been made (e.g., “Correction: …” at the top or bottom of the article).
  • We will update the date of the article to reflect the correction (if applicable), while preserving original publication date.
  • We will notify readers of significant corrections (for example via a footnote or at the top).
